The Riga branch does not have a real leader. The support group is led by Ramona Kokina, who is known by many because she has been a member of the association “Tree of Life” since its foundation. Ramona has been working on our psychosocial rehabilitation program, “The Source of Power”, since its inception. She is one of the initiators and drivers of the program. Yes, even when we decided to create support groups, which was a big novelty in 2012 (when it comes to oncology), Ramona agreed to lead such a group. Probably her adventurer spirit is to blame here :)

And so, since 2012, we meet on the second Thursday of every month to talk to the support group about latest happenings, and serve as a place for people who have come together and are trying to understand if the thoughts and feelings that come with the disease are normal? Is it normal that things that once worried now seem like a trifle? Is the chosen rhythm of life appropriate? These are just some of the issues that can be discussed within these support groups.
